Did thou ever think of me?

Thou, my sir, had left me to sail the globe
and for thy safe return, I did not dare to hope.

My soul was troubled; warm tears had filled each eye,
thinking of thy last gentle kiss and thy solemn goodbye.

In a world of despair thou had left me,
still my dreams were filled with nothing but thee.

For a long time, I did not lay my eyes on the face of the man I had once called mine,.
still I recalled every handsome feature, every endearing freckle and every serious line.

Was thy mind ever taken by thoughts of merely me,
while the saline wind caressed thy face at sea?

Many tears I have shed, many nights I have wept.
I cursed the ship on which thou had stepped.

I had thought that my heart would never find rest,
until my body would lie peacefully in a chest.

I had prayed for the beating of my heart to cease,
only by the tip of a sword, I would find peace.

Each one of my days was suspended in a shattering sorrow
and the knowledge that thou would not be with me tomorrow.

Now thou have returned and thou have asked me to become thy beloved wife,
thou have asked me for my hand, to walk beside thee on the path of life.

Now I see thy sun kissed face so near,
still my spirit bears the emotion of fear.

That thou will flee with my heart as a deceitful thief in the frosty night,
it fills my broken heart with an unbearable grief and a devastating fright.

It is not that I doubt thy love for me,
I only fear the calling of the treacherous sea.

I would not give my heart and soul to any other man but thee.
But still it overwhelms, there is both fear and love in my heart, do thou not see?

Thou have sworn to stay by my side, to keep me out of harms way
Thou have promised to love me, hold me close, for ever and a day

I take thy word, the promises thou need to keep,
if thou shall break them, it is for thy soul is shall weep.

I love thee with all my heart, as I shall do for eternity, until the end of time.
My dear sir, I shall grow old, walking beside thee, through sunbeams and rime.


I wrote this poem awfully early this morning, and I have no idea why. I do not know why I want to burden and bore you with it either, I just felt like sharing it with you.

wow! it's really good! wow, you really have got talents, i can't even find two words that rhyme... yup, LAME i know, cause i can't even find two words that sound alike jaja!!

Thanks sweetie pies! But all of you are so gifted, each and every one. They're not all the same talents, because if everyone was identical; the world would be a rather dull place, would it not?
